The Rudra cave was opened the first time to the public in 2018, that was the first time when tourists have started booking to experience this place.

And the cave is maintained by the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam.

Rudra Cave OR Dhyan Gufa

The famous cave in Kedarnath of Uttarakhand state where Prime Minister Narendra Modi meditated in May 2019, it is Rudra Cave. And, this destination is becoming a tourist attraction in Uttarakhand fastly.

This cave/gufa is naturally made of stones and has also a wooden door at the entrance of the cave. This Rudra Cave called Dhyan Gufa means a place to use for meditation.

The Rudra cave or Dhyan Gufa has located almost 1 km from the Kedarnath shrine. This is positioned facing towards the shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath in Uttarakhand.

 If you visit Kedarnath temple, you must visit Rudra Cave where you can easily reach following a trek of one km from Kedarnath temple.

Rudra Cave in Kedarnath is situated in a remote and isolated location, it’s meant for the purpose of meditation, and only one person to be allowed inside this Meditation or Dhyan cave at a time.

If you found medically fit and physically good, then you’re allowed to stay there, inside the cave, otherwise not allowed.

Everyone needs to report at the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Guptkashi office, a few days before the scheduled date of the booking, for the complete medical check-up.

Facilities Available at Rudra Cave 

  • You will be offered complete isolation there, a phone has been also installed there inside the cave which can be used in case of any emergency situation.
  • There is an attached Bell that can be used to call an attendant.
  • At the cave, food facilities include tea in the morning, lunch, breakfast in the evening,  and dinner.
  • There are electricity, drinking water, toilet, and heater facilities equipped.

Rudra Cave Kedarnath Booking

The cave can be pre-booked online for 1500 rupees for a one-night stay and for 999 rupees for one day stay, the timing between 6 am to 6 pm. Once the cave booking has been confirmed, refunds aren’t provided.
